Tips for better results
- Trim before you paste, do not paste and hope. 1,200 characters is roughly 200 words — about a minute spoken — so pick the argument, not the whole post.
- Cut the introduction. Blog posts warm up for a paragraph; short-form video has about a second, so start on the claim.
- Rewrite anything that only works in print. Parenthetical asides, "as I mentioned above" and long lists all read fine and sound wrong.
- One extract per video. Two arguments from the same post make two videos, and both perform better than one that covers both.
- Read your extract aloud before pasting. If you run out of breath, the voiceover will sound rushed too.
